Terms of Service for Simple Reports

Welcome to Simple Reports, a web-based platform that helps school psychologists and other special education professionals create streamlined, editable reports with ease.
By accessing or using Simple Reports (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who We Serve
Simple Reports is designed for use by licensed professionals such as:
School Psychologists
Special Education Teachers
Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs)
Occupational Therapists
Educational Evaluators
The Service is not intended for use by students, parents, or minors under the age of 13.
2. Your Responsibilities
By using Simple Reports, you agree to:
Use the Service only in accordance with applicable laws and professional ethics.
Avoid inputting personally identifiable student information (e.g., names, birthdates, IDs) into any field except the export fields.
Ensure that demographic data entered during export is appropriate and is removed after export.
Regularly update and delete stored information as necessary for privacy and accuracy.
Comply with your local school district or agency's policies regarding data storage and FERPA/HIPAA guidelines.
3. Data Use and Storage
The Service allows you to input and save non-identifiable report content such as:
Reasons for referral
Educational, developmental, and medical histories
Interview summaries
Testing and observational data
Placement summaries
This information is not automatically cleared and is treated as template content. It is your responsibility to delete or replace this content when creating new reports.
Demographic data entered at the time of export (e.g., name, DOB, student ID) is used only to populate a Word document and is not stored or retained by Simple Reports after export.
4. Data Security
We take data security seriously and employ safeguards including:
HTTPS encryption
Secure hosting on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Auto-deletion of demographic fields after export
However, no online system is 100% secure. You agree to use the Service at your own risk and to limit use to appropriate, non-sensitive data when possible.
5. Compliance
We have designed the Service with key privacy laws in mind:
FERPA: We do not store or share identifiable student records. Users must comply with FERPA regulations when using the platform.
HIPAA: The platform is not intended to store protected health information (PHI) governed by HIPAA. Use is limited to educational context.
COPPA: We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The platform is intended solely for use by adults working in education.
6. Service Availability
We aim to provide uninterrupted access to the Service, but we do not guarantee uptime or error-free performance. We reserve the right to suspend or discontinue the Service at any time without notice or liability.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, code, branding, and features of Simple Reports are the intellectual property of Simple Reports. You may not copy, distribute, reverse engineer, or resell any part of the platform.
You retain ownership of any content you input into the platform.
8. Prohibited Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
Store or distribute student PII outside the intended export fields
Upload malicious code or engage in disruptive behavior
Misrepresent your identity or professional credentials
Violate any applicable law, regulation, or school district policy
9. Modifications to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Simple Reports for any violation of these Terms or misuse of the platform.
